Territory Sales Representative | Dallas–Fort Worth, TX

Are you a hunter?

We’re working with an established manufacturer that is looking for a Territory Sales Representative to build new business across Texas.

This is a true new-business / hunter sales role . The person in this position will spend their time identifying prospective independent retailers and dealers, getting in front of decision-makers, opening new accounts, and growing those relationships from the first order forward.

If you enjoy prospecting, getting new logos, building a territory from the ground up, and closing business , this could be a great opportunity.

What you’ll actually be doing

You’ll own a defined territory and be responsible for finding and developing new customers.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Prospecting independent retailers, dealers and other potential B2B customers that are not currently doing business with the company
• Building a pipeline of target accounts and consistently moving prospects toward a close
• Making outbound calls, conducting field visits and developing relationships with business owners and decision-makers
• Opening new accounts and helping customers through setup, onboarding and their first orders
• Identifying opportunities to increase product penetration and grow newly established accounts
• Conducting virtual product and sales training for customers
• Keeping customers informed about products, promotions, sales opportunities and company events
• Visiting prospective customers throughout the territory
• Tracking prospecting activity, customer conversations and follow-up in the CRM
• Gathering competitive information on pricing, competitors, purchasing habits and market activity
• Working independently while partnering with internal teams to support your customers

The person we're looking for

This is the important part.

We are looking for someone who has a demonstrated history of winning new business , not simply managing an existing book of accounts.

You should have:

• Outside B2B sales experience
• A proven track record of prospecting and closing new accounts
• Experience developing a geographic territory
• Strong cold-calling, relationship-building and negotiation skills
• The ability to identify decision-makers and create opportunities from scratch
• Experience selling through or to independent retailers, dealers, distributors or other B2B customers is highly desirable
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• CRM experience
• The ability to work independently and manage your own pipeline
• A willingness to spend significant time in the field

Industry experience

Experience in building products, home improvement, flooring, windows, doors, cabinets, countertops, interior products, consumer durables or a related industry would be a plus.

However, industry experience is not required.

We would absolutely consider a strong B2B sales hunter from another industry who knows how to open doors and win new accounts.

The logistics

?? Dallas–Fort Worth, TX

This is a non-remote, direct-hire position.

When you're not traveling in the territory, you'll work from the company's DFW-area showroom five days per week .

Travel can be up to 75% , including some multi-day and overnight travel throughout the assigned territory.

You will need:

• Valid driver's license
• Reliable personal vehicle
• Current auto insurance
• Ability to accommodate overnight and multi-day travel

$90,000 base salary + commission
