Commercial Journeyman Plumber

Clinton, MD Area

$35–$45/hour Base Pay Depending on Experience
Prevailing Wage Opportunities Up to $70+/Hour
Full-Time | Year-Round Work | Direct Hire

We are hiring experienced Commercial Journeyman Plumbers for a well-established commercial plumbing contractor in the Clinton, MD area.

This is a hands-on commercial plumbing position for someone who can work independently, read blueprints, perform layout, install piping correctly, and complete work from underground and rough-in through finish.

Approximately 80% of the company's projects are prevailing wage jobs, creating excellent earning potential for experienced plumbers who prove themselves in the field.

What You'll Be Doing

• Install commercial plumbing systems on new construction and renovation projects
• Read and interpret plumbing blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Measure, cut, fit, and install piping systems
• Perform layout and calculate offsets
• Install underground sanitary and storm piping
• Install domestic water systems
• Work with copper, PVC, CPVC, cast iron, and other commercial piping materials
• Install commercial fixtures and equipment
• Complete rough-in, top-out, trim, and finish work
• Troubleshoot installation issues in the field
• Coordinate with Foremen, other plumbers, apprentices, and other trades
• Maintain quality workmanship and productivity
• Follow OSHA and jobsite safety requirements

Experience We're Looking For

Candidates should have strong hands-on commercial plumbing experience with several of the following:

• Copper piping
• PVC
• CPVC
• Cast iron
• Underground sanitary
• Storm piping
• Domestic water
• Commercial fixtures
• Equipment connections
• Above-ground plumbing
• Underground plumbing
• Rough-in
• Trim and finish work
• Commercial construction layout

Experience on schools, hospitals, office buildings, apartments, government facilities, restaurants, industrial facilities, or other large commercial projects is a major plus.

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on commercial plumbing experience
• Ability to independently read commercial plumbing blueprints
• Ability to perform layout, measurements, and offsets
• Ability to install commercial piping systems without constant supervision
• Strong understanding of commercial plumbing installation methods
• Ability to work productively as part of a crew
• Dependable and able to report to jobsites on time
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• Must be willing to work throughout the Clinton, MD / Washington, DC regional market

Residential-only plumbers are not the right fit for this position.

Compensation

• Base Pay: $35–$45/hour depending on commercial plumbing experience and skill level.
• Prevailing Wage Projects: Approximately $68–$72+/hour depending on the project, classification, and applicable wage determination.
• Approximately 80% of the company's workload consists of prevailing wage projects.
• Prevailing wage placement is based on project availability, experience, and performance and cannot be guaranteed 100% of the time.
